First-Time Nerves? Let’s Take the Pressure Off

It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous before your first booking. In fact, a lot of my clients tell me the same thing:“I wasn’t sure what to expect.”

Whether you’ve been through something that’s changed your relationship with your body—like surgery, stress, or trauma—or you’re simply longing to reconnect with yourself or find a pleasurable way to de-stress, those nerves make sense. This is new territory, and with that comes vulnerability.

Booking this kind of experience can feel unfamiliar, even a little daunting. But you’ve already taken the first brave step. That deserves to be acknowledged.

What to Expect When We Meet

When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a calm, private space designed to help you exhale and settle in. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is expected of you, other than a shared respect for one another.

If it feels right for you, I usually greet clients with a warm hug. We’ll ease in with friendly conversation and I’ll guide you toward the bathroom to freshen up in a private space. There’s no pressure to say the “right” thing—many people don’t know what to say at first. That’s absolutely okay.

This is a space of curiosity and compassion. It’s about reconnecting with your body, your desires, your comfort, and your confidence—at your pace.

Worried About ‘Performance’? You’re Not Alone

One of the most common fears I hear is around performance.

Let me be very clear: there is absolutely no pressure to perform here. None.

Intimacy isn’t something to achieve. It’s something you allow. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes playful. Sometimes emotional. And always—it’s human.

No matter how your body responds, touch, intimacy, and a shared authentic connection are still powerful. Your pleasure, your worth, and your capacity for connection go far beyond mere function.

Simple Ways to Ease the Nerves Before Your First Visit

1. Acknowledge the Nerves

It’s completely normal to feel nervous when you’re about to try something new. Recognising this anxiety is the first step toward easing it. You’re taking a courageous step, and that matters. Instead of brushing the nerves aside, try to embrace them as part of the process. Tip: Write down how you’re feeling, even if it’s just a few words. Journaling can help you process emotions and reduce anxiety, allowing you to acknowledge your thoughts without letting them control you.

2. Take a Few Deep Breaths

Deep breathing is a simple but powerful tool to signal to your body that it’s safe to relax. When you start to feel anxious, pause for a moment, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in through your nose, holding for a few seconds, and then slowly exhaling through your mouth. Tip: Try the “4-7-8” technique—inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7, and exhale for 8. This helps activate your parasympathetic nervous system, calming your body and mind. Do this a few times to feel grounded and centered.

3. Visualise Being Welcomed

Visualization is a powerful technique to help reduce nervousness. Picture yourself arriving in a calm, supportive environment where you feel welcomed, respected, and at ease. Imagine a warm, friendly greeting, perhaps a hug if that feels right for you, and a space that feels comfortable and safe. Tip: Before your appointment, take a few moments to close your eyes and visualize walking into that space. Let yourself really feel the support, understanding, and absence of judgment. The more vividly you can imagine it, the more you’ll set yourself up for a peaceful experience.

4. Come as You Are

There is no need to “perform” or have everything figured out before you walk through the door. You don’t need a script, a perfect version of yourself, or even to know exactly what you’re feeling. All you need to bring is your true, authentic self—and that is more than enough. Tip: Try to let go of any preconceived ideas or expectations you might have about how you “should” act. Remind yourself that this is about connection, not perfection. Being genuine and open is the most powerful thing you can offer.

These practical tips, combined with the emotional preparation, can make a significant difference in helping you feel more at ease before your first visit. It’s okay to feel nervous—what matters most is that you’re taking the steps to care for yourself and step into something new. I’ll be right there, ready to meet you with compassion and understanding.

This is a non-judgmental space where I want you to feel as though the outside world fades away the moment you step through the door.

Feeling curious? A little nervous? That’s totally okay. If your heart’s saying “yes” (even with a few butterflies), go ahead and book your session. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just a willingness to explore. I’ve got the calm space, the warm welcome, and the comfy vibes ready for you.
